“I feel a lot more body confident!“
“I was overweight and the heaviest I had ever been. I had never had to diet before due to being my optimum weight and always very active. Due to illness I had to stop a lot of the activities and sports I did and gained weight. I would comfort eat and eat a lot of crisps sweets etc. I did not know how to lose the weight safely and in a way that would keep me at a healthy weight. After seeing a demonstration in our post natal group I thought with the exercise it would benefit me to do the weight loss challenge too.
I was a bit concerned about the price and would it actually work for me. I didn’t understand exactly what would be involved and was concerned I would not lose any weight at all.
The facebook group is a great idea as you can get encouragement/advice and just general feedback from others as well as great information from Debbie on a daily basis. It has helped me to understand how what I eat affects me and by teaching me about this I have changed my eating habits which I have seen a change already. I was never one for cooking meals and never inspired to but with some recipes I now enjoy cooking an evening meal, or preparing breakfast and lunch.
I have noticed my body shape has changed, I have lost weight and do not crave crisps or sweets.

“I met Debbie at a postnatal session and thank goodness I did! Before having my daughter exercise and fitness wasn’t something that I really thought about, I was reasonably active through my job but didn’t really do anything else. 6 months after she was born I realised I really wasn’t anywhere close to getting my figure back and I was pretty miserable with how I looked and the changes that has taken place with my body and my mood……well it’s now just 6 weeks later and I couldn’t be happier! I’ve lost a significant amount of weight and reduced my waistline by 13cm enough to look better than before the baby!!

“I was told about the classes by a friend who also recently had a baby. It sounded different but also interesting. We attended the workshop session where I was impressed with how many areas I could potentially improve by doing the post natal course with Debbie. I had gained weight over two pregnancy’s and was finding I often had back problems as a result. I decided that now was the time to tackle all of this head on. I was still breastfeeding so unable to ‘diet’ but was really attracted to the idea of improving my overall health fitness and wellbeing.
I did think I may not be able to do it. Have not ever been a really ‘fit’ person so thought I may not be able to keep up! It really helped that I was doing it with a friend. We motivated each other.
The programme has been amazing. I feel less tired that I did and I have more energy. I am finding ways of incorporating the exercises into my normal daily routine. And I am finding it easier the more I practice. Debbie is easy going and friendly and really flexible about babies joining in the classes! I have found that I look forward to the sessions which I really did not expect to happen.
Being able to master the positions is really satisfying. I have noticed my core seems stronger, things I used to struggle with are getting easier.

“The Mixed Ability Programme has helped me get back into running”
“I’d always enjoyed running and used to do a lot more running that what I was doing. I’d recently moved to the area and was looking for running clubs, I found Lingfield Running Club but it was a little too far out for me, as with working 4 days a week and looking after the little ones I really needed something closer to home. My motivation was rock bottom as I constantly felt so tired and stressed, so I joined the gym at Nuffield, Crawley which was good. I was enjoying the classes and was doing pump once a week but I really wanted to concentrate on my running! Not on the treadmill. Then one day my friend, Lisa Mancey told me about Runfit and I was eager to join and being in Copthorne it was great for me!
I honestly didn’t have any reservations about signing up to Runfit, I was eager to get started and wanted someone to give me the kick up the bum that I needed as I felt I was stuck in a bit of a rut.
The programme I feel has worked great for me. It certainly has given me the kick that I needed and helped me get back into running. It’s been good on the social aspect too as all the girls are lovely and very motivational. I also love the fact that we do resistance work with kettle bells, medicine balls, tyres!!! Very varied….. It certainly is a tough workout but lots of fun. I also feel confident that Debbie knows what she’s talking about and is great for advice and support.
I think the best result for me so far has to be the 10k that I have signed up for…… I have never done one before but was keen to do one. Runfit has given me the confidence to sign up to it whereas I don’t believe I would have if I had kept running on my own!!! Eeeeek let’s hope I get round it!!
I suppose my personal result is that I’m back into running!!! Horray!! I’m enjoying running again, making new friends in the club and setting myself goals that I’m focussed on completing now. Runfit has dug me out of the hole I’d got myself in. - Sam Gladman
“I had not done any exercise since having my second son Joseph back in 2011. I has signed up to many groups none which I found motivating or successful .
I was so nervous about signing up the thought of me running was laughable to many as I have never been a runner. I went to the taster session and although it was hard work I enjoyed it.
I am now able to run 5k and a bit further, something that I never thought I would be able to do!
My best result was running 5k around Tilgate Park in the Race for Life in under 40 minutes!
Debbie is very motivational and positive, each week is different so it never gets boring, the exercises change. There is never a dull moment I have had more energy and realised if you put your mind to it you can achieve anything. The hard work pays off!”

The programme was such good fun. The sessions were fab – really well planned and structured. We were pushed in the right way to really get the most out of us. Before I joined the RunFit Beginners Programme I belonged to a gym and would go occasionally but never really had a programme or goals to work towards. Running was something other people did … The idea of learning to run with a group of like-minded women of a similar age appealed to me.
I was very unfit and wasn’t sure if I’d be able to keep up with the group.
Being on the programme has changed my outlook on exercise. I now go running. Working with Debbie has been really good fun as well as hard work … I actually looked forward to training and found the encouragement from Debbie great.
Being able to run for over 10 minutes without stopping instead of the 2 minutes before I joined and having the confident to enter a 5K run later in the year has been the best thing.

After a free taster session (which worked me hard!), I could see the potential and decided to sign up to a course of personal training sessions.
Within weeks, I was inspired by the amount of muscle tone I had achieved and motivated by the varied routines and nutrition advice given.
I have recently completed a second program of home personal training, nutrition advice and Debbie added further variety to my exercise routines.
As a single mother, working full time, Debbie was great at accommodating my needs and offered training at a time to suit me which was much appreciated. She is very encouraging and friendly whilst pushing me on to do my absolute best.
I am hoping to join Debbie’s RunFit sessions in the near future to develop my running ability as I have only ever run 5k. I am looking forward to running my first 10k! - Helen Gray

“I have always wanted to take up running as a hobby but was so bad that I could not run for more than 2 minutes without collapsing! I was embarrassed that the others in the group would see this but decided to go to a taster session before I made up my mind.
